Lantern creates a united identity for Anti-Bullying Week 2017
Creating this year's Anti-Bullying Week campaign identity, expressing the theme, 'All Different, All Equal'.
For the third year running Lantern was commissioned to brand this year's national anti-bullying campaign. This week has seen the theme of 'All Different, All Equal' takeover schools, youth groups and social media for another successful Anti-Bullying Week. Despite all the amazing work charities like the Anti-Bullying Alliance are doing, bullying remains a huge problem with 64% of 8-16 year olds reporting witnessing someone being bullied for being 'different'. In addition, 40% said they would hide certain things about themselves for fear of being bullied.
Celebrating our differences
This year's takeaway theme encourages everyone to celebrate the individual differences that make us unique and realise that we are all the same. This is reflected in the campaign's visual identity – two speech bubbles forming an equals sign creates a bold symbol that is both playful and powerful. This is complimented by a bright colour palette, further expressing the idea of variety and diversity.
#alldifferentallequal
The reaction to the campaign was overwhelmingly positive with the hashtag #alldifferentallequal trending across social media at various points over the week. This year schools took part in 'Odd Sock Day', which saw pupils proudly wearing odd footwear to celebrate their differences.
The launch event at the House of Lords saw speeches from the much loved CBeebies presenter Andy Odd-Socks, Monica Lewinsky and charity sponsers Safe-To-Net. This year also saw the continuation of the Power For Good Awards, where pupils nominate school teachers and staff members who make outstanding contributions against bullying. The award features our Power For Good identity which fronted last years Anti-Bullying Week.
