Lantern’s work for the Norfolk Coast shortlisted in City Nation Place Global Awards

Our work to develop a sustainable tourism brand for the UK’s Norfolk Coast has been recognised by the prestigious global awards for ‘Best use of design’.

The City Nation Place Awards celebrate excellence in place branding and marketing, promoting the strategic and creative thinking that goes behind managing the reputation of destinations around the world. With entries received from over 30 countries across all continents, it’s a truly global benchmark for place branding, assessed by an independent jury of international place brand leaders.

Best Use of Design

The news follows Lantern’s treble win at the Transform Awards Europe in March, where the project took home trophies for Best Place or Destination Brand, Best Visual Identity from the Travel and Tourism Sector, and  Best Creative Strategy.

The latest shortlisting for Best Use of Design marks the UK’s only nomination in the category, facing global competition from Denmark, Chile, Austria and Ecuador. The winners of the prestigious awards will be announced at the City Nation Place Global conference in London on 7th November and we’ll be there to hear the news.

Lantern’s Director, Ryan Tym, said the announcement has come at a pivotal time for the tourism sector: “Our partnership with the Norfolk Coast has been transformative in helping the region to promote sustainable visitor behaviour. This nomination, against tough global competition, highlights the fact that now, more than ever, destinations need to promote themselves with a focus on long-term viability, rather than short-term visitor numbers.”

We’re looking forward to hearing how we’ve got on at November’s conference and ceremony – watch this space!
